Have you ever had a moment when you thought to yourself “I could be doing more”? That moment happened to me a few weeks ago. Don’t get me wrong–I’ve donated, I’ve volunteered, but not nearly as much as I should. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about my career and what I spend my time and money on, and while I really do enjoy everything that I am able to do, I felt that I could add more.
This led to days of wracking my brain. I knew I wanted to do something, and had decided that I would make a change, but I didn’t know what. What cause should I dedicate time to? There are so many that I wish I could help, but doing a little bit for too many wouldn’t help anything enough. Then my dog stared at me, and I knew what I could do.
We rescued Hutch four years ago, and it was the best decision we’ve made. There are so many homeless animals, and seemingly endless organizations trying to help them. These organizations dedicate time and money to saving animals and giving them homes. We are constantly hearing stories of dogs who need help, or need a surgery, but it is expensive.
Beginning today, a portion of every sale will be donated to animal rescue organizations. Right now, the plan is to choose one nonprofit organization per month to focus on, and at the end of the month we will send a check to that organization. This plan may change, depending on how much money we are able to raise. We may spend more than one month per organization, or sponsor a particular pet in need.
