Yes, I’m capitalizing the W, because I feel like we’ve all come to celebrate the whole three days–and that’s not a complaint. I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t know exactly what we were supposed to be celebrating this Weekend, but according to the U.S. Department of Labor:
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
As we celebrate, we can allow ourselves to be grateful for a few other Fun things this weekend.
This is also the start of a new series on the site. We’ll have some posts of a handful of things that fall into the “Fun” category over here. Sometimes it will have to do with beer, sometimes it won’t. As much as we love beer, we also love other things. We’ll try to bring in some sort of connection to the craft world, but we’ll see how it evolves. Today, there is no beer. only nerdy stuff. And I have no apologies for that–this was a big week!
Captain America, the First Avenger himself, has acknowledged that he will do more MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) movies if Marvel wants him. Initially he negotiated down the 9 picture deal to 6, but he’s realized he shouldn’t limit himself with such a powerhouse.
Arrow is back (not) soon enough and we just got the first trailer. I don’t know if I could be more excited about this. The trailer is so packed, I just need to keep going with my re-watching of Season 3 so I’m ready for October 7th.
Before that (on September 29th), we’re seeing the return of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD (Don’t make me put all the periods in. Please.). It’s not quite as packed a trailer as DC’s, but from the looks of it, Daisy is taking the reins, and a spiked villain could be back based on the final, dark shot. Take a look:
Let me know in the comments–what do you think of all of these new releases? It looks like it’ll be an action-packed Fall on TV.
